The Loneliest Whale

For decades now, scientists at the NOAA have been tracking a mysterious whale song that sounds like the ghostly howls of a drowned tuba player. The sounds have been identified as belonging to a single whale, who sings at a frequency unlike any other whale in the world.
Dubbed "52 Hertz" after the frequency range in which he typically sings, the animal has been called the loneliest whale in the world, since his love songs seem destined to go unanswered. Most other species of baleen whale, such as blue whales and humpbacks, sing at frequencies much lower, between the 15-25 Hertz range.

I can hear you, my dear. I can hear you. You are not alone anymore.

Who knows what's at the bottom of the ocean, imagine this is the last of a lineage of prehistoric whales we never discovered and this is the last of her kind, crying for a mate, the last of her species :(

Fun fact: the species of whale is unidentified, but what they can speculate, the call is similar to that of a fin or blue whale. Poor fella.

In the middle of the vast ocean
One whale speaks softly and lonelily
The fact that no matter how much they shout, it won’t reach
Makes them so gravely lonely that they quietly shut their mouths 😢😢😢

So, good news, the 52 Hertz whale has found a friend. Finally not lonely.

They say that the lonely whale produces a sound much higher than normal whales. And most whales reject the lonely whale. Scientist believe that this is the only whale of its kind

whoever this whale is must still be out there in the ocean somewhere looking for some company. Whales can live for hundreds of years, he must be out there.

No wonder I stay single, I talk at a lower frequency than others.
Jokes aside, I feel you, whale.

poor thing man. I’ll be your friend pls.

But you know what, whilst the whale may technically be alone, if you think about it, it’s being noticed by living beings that it can’t even understand.

if only 52 knew that he was loved :(

Good news, the 52-hertz whale has a 52-hertz friend. He's not alone, a second whale's been detected.

Not only NOAA but the Navy, the D.O.D(surprisingly), and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
