Wonder what was going through Holmes Head as he saw his old Plane getting plugged out of the Ground. Maybe: "Long time no seeing, old friend!"

I think it's amazing that most of the pilots were in their early 20s. Wow !

I've met my share of Brits, Scots, and Irish. Courage is in their nature.

He also flew with a little bit of rudder in order to confuse anyone who might be traking him.

The Spitfires were used to take out the German fighter planes and the (slower) Hurricanes' job was to stop the bombers from reaching their targets.

The remains of his hurricane weren't discovered while laying water pipes it was suspected for years where it had crashed and the group that wished to recover it had to go through months of negotiations with Westminster Council to get permission to dig on the site which was in the middle of a major road junction. They were given one night to search.
