Here I install the GARMIN Mini 2 Dashcam in 3rd gen Toyota Tacoma. This install was very easy and plug and play with the Dongar Technologies adapter. This camera is key-sized and mounts discreetly behind rearview mirror and goes virtually unnoticed; automatically records and saves video of incidents. It has a wide 140-degree lens records 1080p video with Garmin Clarity HDR optics for crisp detail day and night. Voice control (only available in English, German, French, Spanish, Italian and Swedish) lets you use spoken commands to save video, start/stop audio recording, take still pictures and more. Saved videos automatically upload via Wi-Fi connection to the secure online Vault to view and share later.

Great video - love the simplicity and the use cases. You made a good point about it being included in cars. Some cars sell it as an accessory but that’s too expensive for a mediocre quality camera and app.
Tesla does it fantastically. Their all around camera includes sentry mode (parking mode) and you can play the videos on the infotainment monitor, plus sends you motivations per the parking mode settings and some other neat stuff.
I wish other cars would do that.

The 1080P surely looks sufficient and the app is good. I like the small footprint and the fact that it is out of ain’t for both the driver and front passenger.

If I have to buy a cord, I’d buy the constant power adapter for the OBD II port cos it gives more functionality and is neater.

Comprehensive review and demonstration. I think I will buy one. I’ve no need for a tiny screen showing the view out the front of my vehicle and like the idea the camera will be not be in my line of sight whilst driving. Did read somewhere Garmin have made it only possible to power with their own hardwire kit (something inside the plug?) but that’s just what they do to keep price of the actual camera low. Also will see if I need a polarised lens and if so will visit a camera shop to source one as Garmin charge 25% of the camera price for one which is excessive. Thanks again. Nice truck.

Do you think this little cam would be easy to move from car to car? I travel for work and am always in a rental car. I am considering using the action cam mount with a suction cup.

The problem with even the best suction cup windshield mount is that on a read-end collision the camera will go flying. I know this first hand.

Does the camera record without wifi? Whenever I’m in my house and turn it on it starts recording but when I’m in my car and plug it in the red lights don’t show up and it isn’t recording
