When frys made it. it was really nice and tasted of rose when they were braught out the recipie was changed using much cheaper ingrediants
to me it now tasts of beatroot & is disgusting

The real Turkish delight comes in a hexagonal box & consists of jellied cubes half flavoured with lemon & half with rose water lightly coated in icing sugar (powdered sugar Never chocolate) they are sold all over the UK during Christmas

I've just tried Cherry flavoured Fry's Turkish Delight from B and M, it's very sickly to my taste. I would rather eat the standard and soft jelly with custard/ trifle than this: Turkish delight always has an auromatic fregrence to my memory which puts me off from it, and the texture feels rubbery than a soft Jelly! I use to hate it as a kid but my mum somehow loves it... As a junior kid, I brought the standard Fry's chocolate bar from a newsagent for the first time but liked it, even though it was geared towards adults. Kids wouldn't really buy Fry's chocolate but packeging appealled me to give it a try. As a kid I liked; creme eggs, strawberry and orange creams from Quality streets and Roses, Fry's chocolate bar didn't make any difference to me...

The Fry's Turkish Delight bar use to be a size of standard potato waffle when I was a kid, and was around 15-20p in early 2000s, but its shrunk half to its size. I can also remember Fry's fondent bars being beefy they've even shrunk too... It use to be 25p a bar at the time! Now all chocolate bars are around 60-65p and smaller. Since a decade, I've switched to a pack of 4 bars than single bars because they work out cheaper and only cost a £1 or £1.25. Sometimes your even lucky to get 50-75p bargins!

Your bar looks as if it has been in transit or lying around a long time because the chocolate is greying and breaking up. I have known this product since the 1960s. Someone else said since 1914. It's delicious. Traditional Turkish delight, also delicious, has powdered icing sugar (or another powder) on the outside, which gives a taste additional to the flavoured gel itself.

They're not a Cadbury product. Fry's have been doing this for years. Being from the UK Fry's have other products too orange cream and peppermint cream bars, have you ever tried real Turkish Delight? It is basically what that is without the chocolate covering. So what you're getting is what it says.

Hated the TD;s growing up and now I can't eat enough of them lol. We get the TD in family choc block size in Oz as well as other various forms, but the family block is my go-to for my BIG chocky hit every time. The poor old TD's and the old Musk Sticks, probably the two most misunderstood candies on the planet but they've lasted the test of time and still going strong unlike the poor unfortunate Polly Waffle lol. RIP PW, you are sadly missed by all that loved you so deeply :(

I love Turkish Delight. It is unique in its taste. My husband can't stand it though.
