EF don't use AESA radar yet, CAPTOR-E is still in development and will not be in service before 2015.
The RBE2 AESA radar are being installed on the Rafales.

@kaustubhupadhyay1998 A 90 million euros-worth contract was signed in July 2004 for the development and integration of an Active Electronically Scanned Array version of the RBE2. In July 2010, it was reported that Thales will commence deliveries of the new radar in August 2010 for use on the fourth tranche of Rafale aircraft with the first AESA-equipped squadron to become operational in 2012. This radar will have an increased range of 50%.

There appears to be a lot of French fan boys on here discounting the EF. Firstly the EF is an air superiority fighter and the Rafale is a strike fighter. In A2A the typhoon would dominate, in A2G the rafale would dominate. Secondly India only accepted Rafale over Typhoon because it's waaay cheaper and India already has the infastructure for Dassault jets. The fact that the Typhoon was a close second despite being way more expensive and in need of infastructural changes proves its superiority.

excellent comparison. The best I've seen, and they look very comparable. I think the equipment of the individual customer will be the biggest difference. If they put vectored thrust on the Typhoon, that will be a big advantage. Both are impressive.

@Warpath2198 The Typhoon doesn't cost as much and doesn't have maintenance problems. Yes the F-22 would win a fight, but I'd rather have my fighters flying and available than being hangar queens.

@mynoon1999 yeah, what you state is mainly true, The Rafale can do more jobs?.. well not really, apart from taking off from acc's. The French would never need to use a rafale to drop a nuke. The Eurofighter is also semi stealth, meaning conventional radars will still struggle to detect it.

EF have nothing more than Rafale... The exercise and technical evaluation proved that Rafale beat EF in A2A too.

@MeSabot India selected rafale but before they actually sign the contract they have to finalize some details...go read aviation week or flight global ...more, dassault accepted an enormous transfer of technology about the rafale at a sale cost...and at least 100 of plane will Be built in India not in France...

To me, Rafale has more beauty in form than the Eurofighter. But I dont know which one is greater in all aspects.

@npmcelroy the stats lie, in every confrontation Rafale and EF made, Rafale won EVERY time. it's a true multirole fighter, dominating for every role. and it's carrier launchable (projection capability !)

Rafale win 7 times in a situation where the Typhoon were simulating russian fighters with old equipments.
In a real dogfight the two machines are very similar...
