If you pass the running end through the loop twice its a locking truckers hitch and doesn't require you to pinch it while doing the secondary knot

A second trucker's hitch in the live-end a foot or so before going through the first trucker's hitch allows the advantage to multiply with each trip through the 2 hitches for as much advantage as you like with an ever decreasing amount of work. Trips through the 2 hitches, rather than sheaves/pulleys, are limited to 2 or a few before the friction adds up to knot not required but put one anyway status.
