How to check for blockages on your Dyson V15 Detect™ or V12 Detect Slim™ cordless vacuum

Dyson V15 Detect and V12 Detect Slim™ cordless vacuum's are engineered to make a pulsing sound to let you know if something is preventing airflow from passing through the machine.

If your machine detects a blockage, the motor will pulse six times. A blockage could occur if an item too large for the machine is accidentally vacuumed up. Our video support guide will help you identify and remove any obstructions from the Soft roller cleaner head, wand or bin inlet.

Leave your machine to cool down before looking for blockages and, for your safety, take care not to touch the power button.

It's also a good idea to give the filter unit a wash - in normal use, this should be done at least once a month. Click here for our video guide:

Always ensure you disconnect your machine from the charger cord before carrying out any maintenance.

Please tell us how to clean the little wheels in the V12 soft roller housing. Can you remove the little wheels. hair goes around the metal shaft of the wheels/rollers and it is very difficult to clean. Will be great if you could remove it.

Why is there no way to prevent dust getting into the motor area in the bin? Sliding doesn't clear that. I have to use a tent stake. It clogs within 5 minutes.

Okay, I have a very interesting issues going on with my V15. The unit is pulsing and shutting off but ONLY in boost mode and only with the floor brush and small Upholstery roller. The carpet roller is working fine is all three modes.

Hi Dyson, why not have a video on address the most common problem that everyone is asking about… the fact that it is near impossible to push your stand-up vacuums through carpet or rugs. It is no where to be found on your website or YouTube videos. There is a guy selling rubber o-rings online as a workaround to this problem. Everyone is frustrated that such a known problem exists AND is not addressed. Please fix this.

If you made it bigger we wouldnt have to check for blockages! Ya doing everything BUT improving the waste bin entry point size!

Dyson war mal richtig gut, jetzt leider nur noch unterdurchschnittliche und abgehoben teuer. Und Support hat überhaupt keinen Bock mehr zu helfen. 👎🏻
