Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs helps explain the way some leaders provide an exchange with followers' hard work. I don't think this type of leadership can ever go away. For high achiever leaders who want their own way or the the highway, it is the only way to go. These are aggressive leaders who usually find other ways slow for them. Thank you for the clarity in your presentation.

Transactional leadership seems very strict but beneficial at the same time. I think it is right approach of any leader to motivate their follower to work harder. So, they will be likely to achieve their goal ultimately.

transactional leader address people's material needs, physical existential requirements, transformational leader address people's psychological needs, they are the two sides of the same coin, this is not a either-or question, we have both needs, but different people or people in different situation might emphasis them differently. the wise leader need accurately assess the follower and motivate them accordingly, there is no one size fit all solution.

This type of leadership is kinda traditional. Many people in high ranks especially in military before use this kind of model.

I think transactional leadership is extremely weak because it does not promote loyalty. I think transactional leadership is an incomplete set of skills. It also can breed distrust and contention.
