"Don't ever for any reason, do anything, to anyone, for any reason ever, no matter what, no matter where, or who, or who you were with, or or where you are going, or, or where you've been, ever, for any reason whatsoever." I LIVE BY THESE WORDS

I love how David is massively complimenting him for his great numbers and Michael let's out a giant sigh because he believes he's about to get fired.

Michael sitting on the chair again to finish his pasta is literally me

If you think about it, David Wallace is probably the kindest person on the show. He's so nice to Michael, doesn't even force him out in the middle of eating. Welcomed him into his house after leaving Dunder Mifflin. Somehow didn't fire Andy. He's seriously a great dude

Theory: The documentary crew is buying paper to keep them in business which is why the Scraton branch is doing so well.

"It's hard to evaluate yourself but I appreciate you trying" David just gave Michael the equivalent of a participation trophy

"Sometimes I start a sentence and I don't even know where it's going" that explains a few things

The part when Michael sits back down to finish his pasta after they say goodbye and David pats him on the shoulder and tells him to finish up is strangely heartwarming

It’s Jim and Dwight. That’s the reason their sales are so high. Those two.

"I am so impressed with the potential you see in me" is probably the most painful line in this whole interaction

I’ve said it before and I will say it again... David Wallace is THE MOST criminally underrated character in the entire

He might not have said it but he knows what it is: Michael treats his clients as people, and he trains them to do the same. He is not obsessed about making profit but he is obsessed about the care of his customers.

Michael is Michael. That's why his branch is doing well. A one of a kind branch

Now that I'm watching the whole show it makes sense that Michael's branch was doing better in this particular point in time. Jim and Andy were about to get married and were probably taking their jobs and responsibilities much more seriously. That combined with the fact that Dwight was always a super efficient and one of the top salesman in the whole company. So all that, plus the fact that Karen's branch were always playing Call of Duty in work time, it makes sense that Michael's branch was the best in terms of sales and numbers.
