The cloths is there to protect the table as the constant dropping of the balls on the same space deteriorates the actual table cloths and causes indentation.
The thingamajick he uses is better than a traditional triangle because you don't have to lift it up past the balls to remove it, instead simply sliding it forward, which lessens the risk of touching and thus moving the balls again.
Balls have to be tightly racked to guarantee better energy transfer and thus a more open table with less clusters.

Looks like a good idea to me.. I dont know what everyone is complaining about. We all want the perfect rack and no one in leagues wants to use the magic rack...

A wood rack is much nicer than the typical plastic but this allows you to nest the balls from all directions. Also easy to open and remove without the annoying bumping of a ball that happens.

Everyone is dissing this and wondering the point…

With a regular triangle you have to take care when lifting so as not to brush the balls and loosen the rack. With this you can just slide it away easily and be left with a nice tight rack.

It’s by no means necessary, but it is nice.
