2023 Disaster Resilience Symposium | Keynote Speaker Robert Verchick

The following session is the day one keynote presentation from the 2023 Disaster Resilience Symposium, hosted by Equal Justice Works and Stetson University College of Law. This event brought together legal, academic, and community voices instrumental in disaster law and the resilience movement. Keynote presentations and discussion panels highlighted issues in disaster response, preparedness and resilience. Participants engaged in discussions surrounding the latest trends in disaster academia, systemic issues, and the future of disaster response and preparedness with a lens towards building resiliency in the face of climate-related and human-made disasters.
