On the Hobbiton film set (now preserved as a tourist attraction) outside Matamata (about half way between Hamilton and Tauranga), New Zealand, they've got the actual Green Dragon inn built and operating as a licensed bar and restaurant. The tour guide said that the film crew burned the Green Dragon down roughly five times while filming the scourging of the Shire, and it only made it into the films as Frodo's vision in Galadriel's Mirror.
