Help us breathe life into an epic new album from the Hot House West Swing Orchestra! Inspired by the legendary guitar playing of Django Reinhardt, ‘Patron Saint Django’ weaves the guitar vocabulary of this Romani icon into a ceaselessly swingin’ tapestry of crooning vocals and big band horn writing. Drawing upon the rich history of swing music, Hot House West blends styles and traditions, from Western Swing to Bebop and beyond, generating their own unique sound.

Why Django?

Django Reinhardt, the Belgian-born Romani jazz guitarist, is often revered as the "Patron Saint" of guitar for his innovative and influential style. Despite a debilitating fire accident that rendered two of his left fingers immobile, Reinhardt surmounted unthinkable odds, developing a novel technique that forever changed the musical landscape. His transcendent performances breathed a distinctive spirit into the guitar, intertwining virtuosic improvisations with the raw emotional intensity of his Gypsy heritage.

Django’s life and music became a testament to resilience and creativity, inspiring countless musicians across generations.
