Chicago is known for a number of things: Italian Beef, The Chicago Dog, Deep Dish, The Cubs, The Bear(s)... the list goes on. One lesser known thing that the Windy City is known for is Mexican food. Starting in the early 1900s, immigrants moved to Chicago from all over Mexico in search of work. What followed was a colorful, thriving and diverse array of Mexican-owned taco joints specializing in every regional taco you can imagine. You don’t need to look hard to find a good taco in Chicago, but lucky for us Chef and Taco Expert (literally) Jonathan Zaragoza is here to show us around. Let’s munch. 🤘🏼 Adam

I need your help! Jonathan and I are planning our next Taco Crawl and want to make sure the list is premo. Let me know your favorite taco spots (as a reply to this comment) that are NOT included in this video and we might hit them in the next vid! Thanks y'all.

Hey Los Angeles Mexican guy here. I never thought of visiting Chicago. I know there’s a huge Mexican community there but it never drew my attention. My gf has always wanted to visit. After watching this, I’m so ready to book a flight. Thanks for sharing your town to more people such as myself, Adam and Jonathan. God DAMN the food there looks so good.

As a Mexican from Chicago, this is so accurate. From the alley, the water hydrant, the hospitality from the staff at these places and the food! Love it. Thanks for this journey. Chicago is truly the best ❤

As you were standing in that alley, I thought, "That alley looks familiar."

I knew it exactly after a few seconds.

Mi papa came out of the army in 46 and was taken a train from Philly to L. A., well in those days everyone traveled by train, he and it stopped in Chicago..He was surprised how many countrymen, Mexicans lived here and decided to stay. Just to say, he was successful here, helped his brothers come here, and they all had happy families here.
