Who is Eos, the Greek Goddess of the approaching dawn? In Captian EO, the fight of "Good vs. Evil" becomes the fight of Micheal Jackson against his own sexuality in the light of a sex-phobic United States in what was the the decade of the1980's. The Evil Queen—the Supreme-being—which he faces is actually the ugly side of his own self: his woman-self. It is a femininity that is controlled by machines and wires that are literally coming out to the Queen's body. Jackson faces her courageously, and through the power of expression (in song), Micheal Jackson defeats the Evil Goddess who is Naturally transformed into the ultimate badass character-actress Anjelica Huston. // Ok, so stop. Now, where is the proof of my duality theory? Well, notice that before one even has a chance to even RECOGNIZE that the transformed Good-queen is the face of Angelica Huston, Micheal Jackson suddenly stands directly in FRONT of her. He slowly, creakingly turns his head, whereupon we realize he has now replaced Angleica Huston's own image. (Even her hair can be seen outlining his head as his body over-takes her figure. There are even two pillars on either side of her/him, which further confirms the duality theme of this modern-day “Fairy” Tail. (No pun intended). “You’re just another part of me, ” our hero sings. We all take a deep gender-neutral breath as a single "Hooter" with a single trunk looks on.The Narcissistic cat-fight with his alter personality has come to a conclusion. A resolution---dare we say TRANS-figuration---has been made, and Jackson, having triumphed over his negative sexual identity, is thus transformed from the lowly Captain EO, to the "Queen of Crew, " where he can now more happily go back to hamming-it-up with his society of genderless puppets from another planet.
