Ok, so I am a 49 year old father of 5 boys that all play disc golf. I was a professional golfer in a former life. Form as I knew was my only chance to make the boys worry about me on the course. Started out throwing around 300 feet for a year, then 350 but got stuck. After implementing a reach back that is after my front toe touch and this tip you spoke of on the video, I have now thrown a disc over 400 feet. My boys dont even know yet, lol. I'm going to beat them like a drum Sunday.

I threw this way and literally on my second throw threw at least 50ft further than I ever have. Thanks homey 🤙

Literally the first time I’ve watched someone effectively explain how to “open the hips” on a drive. Well done!

The 1 thing that completely changed my throws was when I realized how relaxed your body needs to be when you throw. STOP trying to think about it so much it makes your body tense and COMPLETELY ruins your throwing ability. relax your entire body and all it’s levers next time you go to throw and basically let your body become a whip. I’ve been playing for less than 1 year I’m barely an intermediate player but using this 1 simple trick I’m able to get that snap sound on my drives. RELAX! trust me. Let your arm and entire body become a whip and watch how much better you feel next time you throw! Good luck everyone🙂

10 years playing here. 350’ max. First time I’ve heard someone explain opening the hips this way. Thanks!

I've implemented this since I watched your video a month ago. I can't thank you enough for this
It genuinely added 60 to 70 feet to my throw.
From averaging 360, To now 430.

Hey joel, seen you around town over the years, finally got out to an event and saw you destroy match play championships in Bailey. You've always been a local legend, but man, there's no one more deserving of a great 2023 season. One of the nicest guy's you'll ever meet. Hope we see you on top this season!

I kept hurting my knees and shoulders throwing with a closed stance. This video helped me immensely. I love you. I owe you my life

You know, I have been playing 26 years. I knew this at some point. And I forgot. I implemented this in my most recent round and it helped me hit my lines a lot on power throws. I did find, for me, it was not helpful for force over flex throws or touchy turn overs. Which kind of makes sense. I can make that adjustment.

I felt better the first time I threw, using this tip. Disc came off flat and fast, with more spin, meaning it travelled further before fading. Played my local course and tied my personal best, while throwing long on holes I'd never thrown long on before. Awesome video, Joel! Thank you!

I was shocked after the Revasri Range Finder pitch that I didn't find an amazon affiliate link in the description... wow, it really must be good! :D

Thank god this wasn’t a “you’re rounding” video. Thanks, Joel.

Even though it's below freezing I want to get out this morning and try this. Great video Joel.

Been working on incorporating a backhand this past season, as a default forehand player. You were SO kind to comment on my video I shared on Instagram about this “window” theory. Thank you for clearly explaining what it means to “open your hips” in laymen terms. I will be going out for fieldwork this weekend + looking to implement this step ASAP. Thanks again!!!

This is absolutely me. If it was like 15 degrees here today I’d be out trying this.

Although known for your outlandish and colorful style, you've always been a player I love to watch due to your precision and form. Thanks for the tip!

I figured this out this last season and he is right, it is a game changer... the better you get with the and your timing the less effort it takes as well to get good distance because your using larger muscles groups to generate power.
