I imagine that the irony is that most people watching this already know "soccer" well enough

As an American trying to get into soccer after the World Cup has just ended, this is exactly what I was looking for. It's very confusing with the different clubs playing outside of their own respective leagues. I'm starting to wrap my head around this now!

Perfect! I’m an American and have been drawn in by the World Cup, but now was wondering how to keep the adventure alive once it’s all over. Thank you!

As someone who's watched Football his entire life, this video is amazing. I need one as good to understand American Football, Baseball and Hockey

Parma vs Bologna actually would have been a great match in the 90s! Roberto Baggio vs Thuram and Buffon in defense!

Thanks so much. I'm a 28-yr-old girl looking for new interests. Football is a way of life in my country. It's about time I learnt it. Love this video. Thanks so much. Love your sense of humor 😅

This point is not at all for newbies, but I would still like to make it: the difference in playstyles in the different main countries
English football is very physical and it has become quite "risky", as in teams attack in 10v10 situations exposing them selves to counters
Spanish can be the most spectacular for the untrained eye, since you have lots of goals, mostly due to overall bad defences. This is the reason why Atletico put such good shows the last few years. Simeone taught them how to defend as a team
And finally my favorite, Italian football, which is less a sport and more a constant class in tactics. It is more physical than spanish football, but you notice that big teams, very rarely win with a huge goal difference. This is because italian defenders are beasts, even in smaller teams. Positioning and tactical thinking is everything in Italy, which can make it look super boring, but if you know what youre looking at, is the most satisfying

10:20 it doesn't happen often, but Leicester City FC went from the 3rd division in 2008-09 to winning the Premier League in 2015-16 and it was epic

Gotta love how the video is meant to educate Americans on European Football, and yet the comment section is filled with European football fans (like me) hi to the the few Americans who actually learned something and kudos to you for a well put together video mate :)

I am an American who has traveled and lived in several countries where football is played, and I have played it myself. I had not understood the strategies, off side, and how the game is organized in different countries. I have watched more football since the beginning of the World Cup 2022 than ever. This video has helped me to understand and appreciate the game a lot more. Thank you. Your presentation is fun to watch.

Another Englishman here lol. I think your ability to hold the attention of someone who has played football for decades and is already very well versed in everything covered in the video, without using any fancy graphics, is down to your engaging tone and delivery. You see, too many people (frequently Americans, I'm sorry to say) think that you should hold people's attention by speaking loudly and rapidly and generally appearing like you've just done a few lines of the devil's dandruff. That might work on some people in the US, but here in Europe (and elsewhere, I imagine) that's a big turn-off. So, thanks for a nice, entertaining video delivered in a casual, friendly, informative manner.

If you want exciting football watch Atalanta, they either concede 3 goals or they score 3 goals

Relegation and Promotion! This is what makes Football fair! A closed league is what our American owners of football clubs wanted and they felt the backlash all the way in the states!

I'm just getting into soccer as my friend is really into one of the premiere League teams and I want to engage in their interest without overwhelming them with questions to start. This helped me much! I cannot thank you enough for this breakdown!!
