Ling Liu receives 2012 IEEE Computer Society Technical Achievement Award

The IEEE Computer Society presented its 2012 Technical Achievement Award to Ling Liu for pioneering contributions to novel internet data management and decentralized trust management. The Technical Achievement Award honors outstanding and innovative contributions to computer and information science and engineering, usually within the past 10 years. Dr. Liu accepted her award at the Computer Society's 13 June 2012 awards ceremony in Seattle, Washington.
Ling Liu is a Professor in the School of Computer Science at Georgia Institute of Technology. Dr. Ling's research interests are in the areas of database systems, distributed computing, and Internet data management and data mining with the focus on performance, availability, fault tolerance, security and privacy. Dr. Liu's research has been supported by the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF), the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD), the U.S. Department of Energy, as well as industrial companies including IBM and Intel.
