Admit it- we all got trolled by that poison mushroom in Super Mario Bros The Lost Levels. I was playing it on LodgeNet and didn’t know that Nintendo would make a mushroom in a Mario game a hazard

Wasn't expecting a list like this, because I didn't think there were many hard games for this franchise. Though Galaxy 2 isn't that difficult until you get to some of the Green Stars and... that level.

I have so much fun playing these Mario games. The harder they are, the more exciting they get. It'd be too boring if all the levels were too easy.

I love Mario sunshine it made me want a GameCube from when I was 5 to when I was 8 and I loved playing it even though I wasn’t good at it but about 2 years ago I finally beat it and I was so proud of myself because I had worked hard to beat it over the years so yeah it’s definitely hard especially since some of the shines that are required are ridiculously overly difficult

Super Mario Land is also hard because there is no save feature and you have to beat it in one shot. Why?!?! 😲

For Super Mario 3, imagine if Raccoons in real life could use their tails to slowly glide down from trees. Now how strong would an umbrella have to be to stop raining raccoons?

Mario Land 1? World? 3? Really? Surprised these are on the list. Had no problems getting through them as a kid.

Super Mario Bros. 3 was WAY difficult. SMB2 (American Version) was EXTREMELY EASY.

I just couldn’t ever get with the baby Mario concept. Super Mario World 2 is the only Mario game that I never played on the consoles I had growing up (NES, SNES, Gameboy, N64)

Is it just me, or am I one of the few that found Sunshine much easier than 64? I know I adjusted to the camera on Sunshine much quicker, and the controls were easy to adapt to.

Lost Levels, on the other hand, was a major challenge. Backward warp pipes, wind, poison mushrooms. I'd say that game earned the top spot, but once you know what you are doing, it becomes pretty easy after a while.
