No Retreat No Surrender will never die. The pantheon of early 80s martial arts films. This interview was everything.

You can see how happy and excited Scott is here speaking to Kurt. That's what happens when you truly love something as a kid, it never goes away and it stays in the heart no matter how old you get.

My little brother, Joey and I used to watch this movie together over and over again. I was a huge Bruce Lee fan and was devastated when he died. And I introduced my brother to these kind of movies. When this movie came out it became one of the movies we could bond over watching. To this day the movie is remembered fondly by both of us. Thank you. We loved you in it.❤😊

The Van Damme story with Kurt calling him to ask him about the sequel was absolutely hilarious. Its great to finally see Kurt again. He was a huge inspiration during my childhood. I still own No Retreat No Surrender on VHS that I bought back in the early 90’s. Thank you for this episode Scott🙏

This movie is van glorious. I started wearing ankle weights while running from watching this movie when I first got into martial arts. Lol. " Stand on your own. There's no retreat. There's no surrender ".

Exactly. As a huge Van Damme's fan in childhood, still, there's plenty of movies, which works as 'time machine' and this is one of them, which can help you find or re-find the motivation again. Even in my 40's. Funny fact: In my childhood in Czech Republic we weren't able to have a VHS player, as it was expensive then. Many movies were only available downloaded from German channels-so we had mostly German versions with one man translating. I brought my cassette (deck tape) recorder to my friend who had a video recorder and recorded at least an audio. After that I imagined the movie in my head, listening to the tape. So I remember many of dialogues as well in 3 languages :))). What a luxury, having this DVDs and YouTubes nowadays :).
Thank you Mr.Adkins for doing these talkshows and being a proud successor of our childhood heroes.
P.s. - Mr. Kinney's skills in this movie have been excellent. He did really something special which is still strong after many years. One of the best.

I used to love No retreat No surrender. I used to come home from my karate lessons and watch it. Me and my friend used to watch it at his house as well, then train afterwards. I still watch it to this day. It would be great to see you and Kurt in a movie together, Scott. Really hope it happens in the future when things are back to normal 👍

This movie was always one of my favorites. Thank you Kurt for showing all us young 80s and 90s kids that we could train ourselves and watch all your martial arts moves and try to replicate them😂 you seem like such a great guy. No regrets!!

As corny as this film is at times, there are only a few films that had such of an profound impact on my development as No Retreat No Surrender. I am how I am because this movie exists. So great to see Kurt McKinney on the show. Thanks Scott!
