Bollywood actress and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Kangana Ranaut has sparked new controversy with her latest remarks targeting the Congress MP and the Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi.

Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, Ranaut, who represents Himachal Pradesh’s Mandi constituency in the Lok Sabha, suggested that Gandhi should undergo a drug test, alleging that his behavior and statements in Parliament were irrational and indicative of substance use. The controversy erupted after Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of the Opposition, delivered a fiery speech in the Lok Sabha during the discussion on the Union Budget 2024. In his speech, Gandhi criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP, accusing them of trapping India in a “chakravyuh” of fear, controlled by influential figures including Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and industrialists Mukesh Ambani and Gautam Adani.
To which kangana said “Don’t you think a drug test should be conducted for such a person? I think it should happen because he attends Parliament and the kind of nonsense things he says either he is under the influence of alcohol or drugs.” I am a new Parliamentarian and I was shocked to see (the manner in which he behaves).
