Today you're going to learn how to make fried polenta cakes.

I probably don't need to tell you that polenta is so cheap and easy to make. But let me show you how to turn polenta into something really delicious the whole family will love.

Making fried polenta doesn't require much time and you can make it two or three days earlier (the cooking part of the recipe).

First step is cooking polenta properly, not too watery and not too stiff, you'll only need four ingredients here.

Next, we have to shape and chil polenta in order to cut it into single pieces. To do that you'll need to place polenta into the fridge for at least 2 hours. And I'm going to show you the easiest way to do that.

Also, you'll see how to fry polenta cakes in order to have crispy edges.

When frying the polenta is done, you can choose to prepare one of the three quick 10-minute toppings I suggest.

Each one of the sauces is delicious in its own way and works so great with polenta.

Quick tomato sauce, easy mushroom ragout or sauteed white beans is what I suggest and what I like to eat with polenta, but feel free to serve these cakes with anything you desire.

Great idea I'm gonna try this asap. I was looking for a change.. I was getting a bit fed up of the usual potato mash, or the Pasta, or Rice. But this Dish is Polenta adds a perfect ratio of carbs and protein like beans. Or mushrooms ..Well done Healthy meals.

You can cook polenta in the oven, I take 1 cup of polenta and 3 cups of boiling water, I add 1 pinch of sea salt and a spoon of marple syrup, then I cover my baking mould with foil and place it in the oven at 180-200° for 30-40 min depends on how high polenta is (I think it would take about 20 min to cook as low layer as yours, I'll try soon, I usually cook it higher, about 3cm high). Then I let it cool down (I just keep it overnight), and make fries with ghee butter next day. They are delicous with banana and almond/peanut butter. Also with cheese. I'll try another toppings, I adore polenta, and so does my 2.5yrs old son :)

Hey Sasha! The sweet polenta with almond extract was a
*HIT!* Lol! It turned out Gooey, crispy, and sweet. I didn't measure my ingredients.... I hardly ever do, and it turned out perfect! Lol! I'm thinking next I might use sugar and lemon extract and a pinch of kosher With a hint of vanilla extract, only if it smells good as a combination. This is *exciting!* Lol!

I like how this video gets to the point whilst still being nicely produced. I'm fed up with recipe videos where it takes 5 minutes to watch someone crack an egg, just so the video gets extra 'watch time' and performs better on the YouTube algorithm.

*Update* I fried the leftovers just I can't keep them on the plate to cool before everyone is munching and crunching on these ugly practice polentas! Lol! They're so good! Lol! Imagine if I actually made them pretty and found a great topping for them? Lol! Thank you!

Where I live Polenta is definitively NOT cheap! It's 7 times the price of white flour.
