That footage of the older man on the street who gives them the 'side quest' and the subsequent interview with the elderly woman in the farmhouse is priceless. Well done guys.

I like how the grandma just flipped the script at 2:46 and started to give her honest opinion on life in Russia!

This episode seems like a seed from which a major, 2-hour long, award winning documentary could be produced.

I was born in Russia and have lived here my whole life, but the moment when I saw that old lady in her old house brought me to tears. This government doesn't deserve all those people who haven't even had a chance to see what normal life is.

Wow 1420, this is my favorite video ever from you guys! It seems to carry an almost metaphysical clout resulting from its unique characters and concrete visuals of the utterly dilapidated conditions. Congratulations! Really shows up the deep contradictions in rural Russians' feeling for their country. That free old (although her mind seems younger than so many "young" people in Russia) lady at 2:46 is such an inspiration and surprise to me. Mad respect for her! Absolutely incredible how she so fearlessly and clearly speaks the brutal and tragic reality: "It's not a country, it's a madhouse..." (the truest words I've ever heard on 1420). This is the kind of courageous and truthful spirit which Russia will need to reform their present messed up society.

6:36 Dude this channel is gold for many reasons. But to be able to enter a house of a tiny Russian village and show us inside is really amazing information for the rest of the world. I had been looking those village on satellite and was wondering so much how people lived in those conditions. It was great to finally witness it.

The old lady with the headscarf was so brave for her statement, refreshing to hear a older Russian like that.

I love that old lady in the house at the end despite everything she said, she was genuinely concerned she didn't have something to give you to eat. I hope she is able to meet more people to talk to.

More rural Russia please, it seems like a totally different world that most people don't know about

The scenery has this eery abandoned beauty to it, like a creepy zombie survival setting. And such colourful characters, you know this people have lived through some shit. Please do more of these they are fascinating on so many levels. Loved the 'I don't give a flying f anymore and just say whatever I want attitude expressed several times.

It is fascinating to see these people that you would never see otherwise. There is a treasure in every person. It would be interesting if you asked more questions of the people you interview. For example, "What brings them joy in life?", "Do they have any life lessons to share?", "What is their greatest accomplishment?" and so on. Despite the anger at the outside world that some of them show, it would be nice to see the real person, the mother, the brother, the dreamer, the friend, and so on. If we all recognized ourselves in other people, much of the evil in this world could be eliminated. Keep up the good work and spread a different view of the Russian people in the world.

I think that this is one of the saddest video's that I have seen on YouTube. These poor, but dignified, people deserve more from their leaders. On the plus side, this channel and the journalists who run it are outstanding. Thank you for bringing us the views and situations of a cross-section of the Russian people. You deserve an International journalism award.

'It's not a country, it's a madhouse'

These are the most apt words by a Russian in all the videos i've seen.
Respect to that woman.

Очень удивился, когда услышал знакомую речь, перемотал назад, не послышалось ли – нет, не послышалось, и вправду, чувашский! Я сам родом из Канаша. Всем привет из Чувашии! Мира и добра!

So sad to see older people this way . Loved the older lady speaking her mind and saying many feel the same but are afraid to speak . Hopefully the younger generation will find their voice soon .

How brave of you to enter into that elderly woman's house. I feel so sorry for her though. No one should have to live in such housing conditions. One can only imagine how damaging it must be to one's mental health. This whole village has a very eerie feel to it. I pray for these people 🙏🏻❤️

Daniil, I've been learning Russian for about 3 years. Your channel has been a great source of information and study for me - about the Russian people, old and young, about the Russian language, and about Russian culture.

There are so many things I could say about the work you do, the people you've met and spoke with, and about Russia, but it would simply be too much.

Instead, I will only say that this is the most raw, pure video of yours which I have seen as a long-time viewer, and I thank you truly for your work.
