GTA Online is down? How to check Rockstar servers, connection issues etc, when can’t play GTA Online

So, you load up the GTA Launcher and you can't play GTA Online. What are the likely reasons and what can you do to fix it?

One more thing to try that's been working for me this week. Bizarrely, all week when I load up via Rockstar Launcher I only get Story Mode, but when I close down the game, close down Launcher and then restart GTA Online appears as an option. Obviously you still need the Rockstar servers to be functioning properly but it seems to work at the moment.

Bro thank you so friggin much for making this video u made my anger go away bro i swear i loaded into gta 5 and battleye just wasnt loading and i thought it was the antivirus but then i searched and found this video and saw people commenting the same issue i though it had something to do with my pc but since u say the servers are down and people are commenting about it i feel more calm bro, thank you so much i swear

Mine are down today as well, but I was playing in the morning just fine and then at like 8 o’clock so stop working. That’s what I think happened. I think it’s Rockstars fault not ours and they’re just not talking about it.
