That new design of the camera bar looks very clean, love it! I am a bit disappointed by the glossy finish but as you said it may change..for the rest it seems a refined and slightly smaller version of the pixel 6 and I think that's a good move

I don't know why the camera bump is doing the opposite of what it did for me last year. As time goes along I'm starting to hate this metal casing around it.

Soli doesn't equals face unlock btw. On the pixel 4, all soli does is start the face detection the moment it feels a face approaching. It still needs multiple sensors and an ir flooding light to be able to pull off a 3d face detection.
Still, as a 4xl owner I do think soli has a good place in a phone. The detection of when my hand is close to it or when I'm in proximity to the phone or not is simply magical.
Face unlock + fingerprint would be amazing though. (Also the squeeze is underrated)

In Google IO, they describe the back finish to be matte. But as they show the phone image (the short clip video of pixel 7/7 pro), it is kind of glossy on the sides. My guess is that it has the same finish as the pixel 3 where the side is partially glossy and the center part is full matte. But I just wish it will have the symmetrical bezel once they officially announce it. 120 hz is a bonus. I just like it clean and simple.

The glass camera bar was much more of a standout. Subdued and tame is not the kind of pixel I want. So far I'm pretty glad I didn't wait a whole year for the 7

The camera bar looks like textured metal. It reminds me of my old Pixel 2 XL. I wish the entire back was like that instead of glass.

I really hope Google doesn't bring back the face unlock if they can't manage to put it under the screen and also give a fingerprint sensor. I hate face unlock. If Google can also give a fingerprint sensor and make it so that I don't even notice face unlock is there then fine. Otherwise I don't want the extra hardware there at all.

I have a hard time believing that Google will have face unlock that just uses the regular camera. Google had that feature in Android years ago. It was called Trusted Faces and it was removed because it was so insecure. It could be fooled by a picture.

Exciting news. Can you find out if they are updating the modem on the 7 Pro. On the 6 Pro the modem is a battery drainer in 5G UC vs LTE. I really hope they fixed this.
