A TikTok video I made. I have two copies of Misery by Stephen King and I compared first pages. They're….very different.

the “yerrr umber whuun fayunnn” part is SO important because it’s the very first hint at Annie. that’s her saying “I’m your number one fan” in paul’s groggy haze

That’s wild!! Can’t imagine losing all that the original offers . Kings use of lengthy detail is what makes the emersion so great, inturn making the horror hit so hard

Serious question for any Stephen King fans- Decades back, Stephen King wrote a short story for PlayBoy magazine that was about twins (not a sexual story, just usual King style). One of the twins was named Eliza. Here’s a quote from the story-
“Eliza burped, and I farted” (I know, kind of weird, but that’s the only exact quote that I can remember, my apologies). I have been looking for the name of this story and which edition of the Playboy magazine it’s inside of for years off and on. If anyone knows, I’d greatly appreciate it if you’d please share the info. with me so I can hopefully find a copy. Thank You!❤

Hopefully not sounding stupid but what does an adapted version mean?
