1) Keep your fragrances in the fridge FOR A LIMITED TIME. Just like extreme heat damages the fragrance, so will extreme cold :). The best place is in the original packaging (box) somewhere in the dark (under your bed or closet, etc.)

BTW, the fridge is most definitely a mistake. Temperature extremes will break down your fragrances. Just as with wine, it's a common misconception that putting it in the fridge will preserve it's life. You want them to remain cool, not cold. Also, the vibrations of the fridge's motor will slowly break down the molecules over time as well. Much better to put fragrances in a dark but dry cellar (if you have one), or simply to store them in a cool cabinet away from the light. You are correct that you want them to remain in low humidity environments, however, so the bathroom is about one of the worst places anyone can store fragrances.

3 tips . 1Sell all your colognes that are older then 12 months to me for 5€ because they are useless now.
2: sell all your colognes that you didn’t keep in the fridge to me because they are useless now for 5€ to me
3: Don’t buy more then one cologne per year because they only last a year. Otherwise you can sell them to me for 5€

I guess all the fragrance reviewers I watch on YouTube have something to learn from this. People like Jeremy, Redolessence, and Dracdoc have talked about the neck being their favorite pulse point to spray.

Lastly, I'm going to give ya the benefit of the doubt about the tip about leaving fragrances on the counter exposed to light. I see some behind you, but I'm pretty sure you're setting those up for another video you'll be filming after this one.

Thanks for responding. I hope you didn't think I was being hard on you or even trying to give a nasty comment. I just know from experience, being a collector for many years. I have a bottle of Poison my sons gave to me when they were kids and it still smells the same. So not all fragrances go bad over time, that would stop the collectors who can't use them all up. I enjoyed your informative video and I will sub. Keep these types of videos coming they do help.

Fragrances last way longer than 12 months. And people know why rubbing is bad. You even said why. Creating friction causes heat and evaporates more volatile compounds.

Sorry but you are so wrong, don't you watch others on youtube that says they have had a perfume for years? Perfumes last a lot longer that 12 months. I have some for many years and they are the same. Do your own personal test and put away 3 bottles for over a year then check them. I like informative videos but not the ones that have no truth or fact. Keep trying.
