Ahh the slow and painful death of my childhood. There was also the West Manchester mall in York that was worse off than the Galleria, but they successfully updated that to a modern strip mall.

Love the windows overhead. Lots of beautiful natural light. Great environment. Thanks Ace! :)

Omg, I live in York and I just watched this video. Most of the stores that were opened and pictured in this video are closed. Clearly, more dead than before. They are opening a Casino to save it.

This is my mall, happy to see it here. As of my latest visit to the Galleria (January 2020), it's still quite alive, but it is slowly on it's way. It gets just a little more dead with every year. As many have mentioned, a casino is supposed to go in and that may revitalize it (temporarily).

So many memories at this mall. Grew up right across from it

Hey Anthony what camera did you use to film the shot going up the escalator at 2:19? Looks real clean.

I worked here in 1990 shortly after it opened at a Disc Jockey record store. Can recall this mall being packed on weekends.

This is the closest mall to where I live, have a ton of memories growing up in the mid 2000s going to this mall and the strip mall with the Christmas tree shop in it. The Boscovs as far as I know has had very little updating to it since the mall opened, so a lot of the fixtures are from 1989. Love this mall, it’s one of the few that hasn’t undergone huge renovations or flat out closed. Tons of old stuff, old technology, and old decor in this mall. I vividly remember how cool the old McDonald’s neon sign was. Subway had a neat neon sign too.

I really love this mall! Been coming here regularly every time we're in PA since the late 90's. I love the late 80's/early 90's aesthetics, especially in the Boscov's. Love all the neon lighting! I also really liked the JCPenney that used to be here. It's the only one I've seen that had four different entrances, and it had a pretty unique layout. There was also a Ruby Tuesday near one of the JCP entrances and a cool vintage looking candy store across from it. I'm sad that the Bon-Ton closed, as that was another one of my favorite stores here that also had some nice retro designs, especially in the lower level. Btw, this mall is even cooler to see at night! Can't wait til I'm able to come back.

I'm loving Boscovs late 80s to early 90s design. I'm also loving The Bontons 70s carpet and walls.

Moved to York Pennsylvania back in 1995 and used to shop at this mall all the time up 'til about 2014 when I moved to another state. Haven't been there in years. Heard it's pretty much dead.

If you ever come back up to the GTHA, check out LimeRidge Mall in Hamilton, Mapleview Mall and the Burlington Centre now it is redeveloped (wka Burlington Mall), Oakville Place in Oakville, Square One in Mississauga, Sherway Gardens and Woodbine Centre in Etobicoke, Yorkdale in North York, Vaughn Mills in Vaughn, Scarborough Town Centre in Scarborough, Bramalea City Centre in Brampton, Pickering Town Centre in Pickering, and Oshawa Centre in Oshawa. All are major malls and all have and/or are dealing with the loss of major tenants such as Sears, Eaton’s, Zellers/Target. You saw the Eaton’s Centre in Toronto last summer, you can come up this fall and see the rest.

If you're still in Pennsylvania, check out Westmoreland mall in Greensburg, PA. Yes, it's on the other side of the state, and no, it isn't a dead mall (not even close), but it hasn't changed since its 1994 renovation and has some awesome 90s aesthetics in it, especially in the food court. It even has THREE working fountains in it still!!

Looks like a nice place! It's still 1989 at Boscov's. That was fantastic fun to see, took me right back.

Whats up Anthony? What camera do you like to film with on your mall adventures?

So much bright neon in the Boscov's though, looks fascinating :)

You've got to see the Susquehanna Valley Mall in Selinsgrove, PA, it's desolate and small, it only has Boscov's and a movie theater as anchors.

This video inspired me to do more DEAD MALL videos. I typically only do abandoned films, but I definitely need to be getting my butt back out there. I'm from the south and we have a ton down here.

Now in 2020 this mall has gone downhill big time. I used to live about a half hour from this mall back in the 90's, moving away in 2005. Sad to see it in its state now.
