In this video we´re covering fundamentals for block design, how to convert from a analog signal block system to digital and what parameters needs to be considered doing so.

We´re also connecting signal sensors to feedback decoders, setting the command station up and connecting a PC-based train control software for automatic train control.

Two sensor areas per block seems unnecessarily complicated to me. If using current detection, why not just sense the whole block? What am I missing?

Unless you have a large layout with multiple locos running, I can't see the point of DCC, unless you enjoy the electrical side of the hobby - which I find to be the least enjoyable!

A block system can get rather complicated indeed. The idea of sensoring 'entering' and a train being 'fully in' had at first not crossed our mind but it is the better solution most certainly. We've adapted something of that kind now but we have installed light sensors which is a different approach of course, and can be quite tricky to get them working reliably. One could easily make an entire course about block systems. However this upload is explaining basics easy and relaxed again 🙂

i once designed my layout with single blocks without sections (there was traincontroller software that could learn that, don't know the name anymore), but i always regretted not having at least a 'in' and 'out' section as i ended up not using the software i designed it for and now the layout is ballasted and i don't want to cut it up just to add the extra sections.

Would like to see a follow up video with your experiences with computer software that you're using ;)

Good night. I love your channel and just subscribed.
I have ordered the model from Noch Martinstadt, 53610.
I would like to set up a part of the environment with a military theme. What do you suggest to build a beautiful model train with a part of the aforementioned theme?. Thanks in advance!

Can you do a review on all your Swedish lokomotives and train you have?

Is it possible to use the system in the CS3+ instead of TC, Rocrail etc. /Fredrik

Hi. Always love your presentations! :) I hope I did miss it, but what are you using to sense the locomotive and or trucks in the isolated sections?

Hallo... thank you for sharing this video. It helps me a lot. I am building a similar layout with multiple blocks. The size of layout is 10m x 4m and has 4 loops with multiple helix (one helix has 7 levels).
I have some problems with 10x S88 and 18x M84..
The M84 flip-flops (switch on/off intermittenly) when *a* loco runs. It looks like the cs3+ sends an initial signal to m84 randomly.. I have reported to maerklin 6months ago but no help
Maybe you can help me on this

Thank you

Edy
