4:17 You know the engineers did a great job when Sorin pauses for a second looking at the PCB and says: "This is nice."

You can tell Sorin is a master at his craft. He can no longer test for heat with his finger tips lol. They’ve been burnt too many times now lol.

If you have such a laptop, be careful with the DC socket. MSI has installed the same socket that caused so much trouble with the Asus X555, R556 and co., they always break at the positive pin.

it is worth noticing that the shorted capacitor was out of the heatsink area and not a capacitor touching the heatsink which makes perfect sense since it overheats during games. good one Sorin!

I can not tell you how many times I watched Sorin remove parts and the laptop still works
I am thinking that 40% of the parts are not needed :)

As ever, Sorin shows us everything and his experience based on sound physics is more useful and instructive than flashier sites mainly from the USA.
About a year ago he demonstrated that the modern tendency to double up capacitors rather than using high quality ones at the design stage can lead to machines refusing to switch on. I believe he was working on several HP models from cheap to extortionate at the time.
Board manufacturers need to watch capacitor quality and pledge a warranty of 15 years on boards and/or build in override redundancy.

I think warranty seals would be OK if they put them on screws to access the motherboard or some other part you’re not likely to need access to before the warranty expires. You should be able to access the cooler, memory and hard drive easily.

I caught your mistake and was yelling into the screen, but you couldn't hear me. 🤣

Even without a thermal camera, you were still able to execute 💪🏽💫

Great find! Idk why this is so interesting to watch, but it is. Maybe because I'm an electrician so I have a decent grasp on what's going on? This seems like it'd be fun to do for a living.

Woh what a nice laptop 💻 and you are crazy with 5amps one mistake and you blowing things up with a lot off 💨smoke. And again a Sorin repair ripped something from the board and it’s working fine. Thanks 🙏

Awesome content surely learnt a lot. Maybe you could do a video on upgrading onboard RAM that would be interesting.
