2024 Dodge Hornet R/T | Sorry - No EpiPen Required

Показать описание
With a lineup in transition from muscle cars to EVs, Dodge turns to Italy for its new entry-level model while resurrecting the Hornet name. Sharing much in common with the Alfa Romeo Tonale, the Hornet emerges as a small SUV or CUV if you will with either a 2.0-liter turbo-4 in the GT model or as a plug-in hybrid here in the R/T trim. It pairs Fiat’s small but power-dense 1.3-liter turbo powering the front wheels via a 6-speed automatic transmission and a 90-kW electric motor dedicated to rear-wheel propulsion.

MSRP as-tested: $53,345

I think this is the most honest Hornet review on YouTube.

53k??? I'm laughing so hard. Might be a good deal used for 15k in 3 years if the market cools. Terrible financial decision to buy new. It will tank in value

Best vehicle in its class hands down! Nothing beats the power, styling, handing, and versatility of the Hornet R/T. You don't have to run it up to $53, 000 so idk why everyone is stuck on $53, 000. Most on the lots today are far less than that before any discounts and if you lease it, you get a $6750 credit as well. You can get one for under $40, 000.

Steve, that’s a lot of Lira, 53k before rebates for a car will will be gone by 2025 if it stays around that long. All the best, Evan L Katz.

Love the added PHEV segment but seriously at that price there are so many better choices this is a bad sign for the future of Dodge EV.

Poor Stellantis they just seem to be out of step with the times. They get things right with their Ram pickups but then the dealers add 10k so they can discount the same 10k when you get there thinking you're getting a deal. No wonder their lots are full of them.

So Chrysler plus Italian, huh?
You might as well just take all of your money out the bank and give it to the dealership mechanic.

It looks like a lifted Carolla from the front. No thank you.

It's crazy because I absolutely love the look and offering of a plug-in hybrid. But the unreliability plus that price is asinine.

I heard this whole car is not very Dodge because this was supposed to be only an Alfa but the big boys at FCA/Stellantis took it from Alfa and made it a Dodge also.

Eh, just get the GT. 53k is way too much. In fact, just drop the R/T trim all together, and put all the visual cues from the R/T on the GT (like the R/Ts exhausts and paddle shifters) and let the next trim level up be the GLH. And a high 30k to low $40k price tag.

@Steve: Is this the pre-production model? . Is the Brembo brakes necessary for a <500hp car?. That's a lot of unnecessary $$$. Could be a sub $40k CUV.
I have to rethink PHEV versions of cars..So far, not impressed based on your honest reviews. Fiat interiors have always been bland. So this is a big NO for me anyway.

Great review, I hate this car. Stellantis, a conglomerate of failed brands, a group of historic nameplates that were once so great that their name carries on well enough to sell whatever their brand names are attached to. Abarth, Alfa Romeo, Chrysler, Citroën, Dodge, DS, Fiat, Fiat Professional, Jeep, Lancia, Maserati, Mopar, Opel, Peugeot, Ram, and Vauxhall. Each one of these makes has at least one model that exists in the lore of automotive greatness. Stellantis's only good idea was the formation of Stellantis; nothing they have actually produced is worth your money. They deserve to become a failed company born of failed companies.

15-20K cheaper & I still wouldn't consider this & i've owned multiple Dodge / Chrysler & Daimler Dodge's.

This should be a 40k fully loaded because at 54k plus questionable Dodge reliability is really scary.

Bee careful when driving this All-New-For-24 Hornet as it may anaphylactic SHOCK you with its _performante_ but only if you are a WASP paying with Fiat currency.
Ciao
