Man I got a feeling that Tolkien himself is looking east over the sea with pride in his eyes seeing his great work honored in such a way.

The detail and effort put into this is incredible. Tolkien would be impressed. Hats off to everyone who helped and is still helping this project

I clicked on this video thinking it was going to be something small a couple of fans made over a weekend. I ended up watching the whole video in complete awe and wonder. Never would have guessed the scale, craftsmanship and detail of this project

I've been wishing for 40 years to be able to walk through middle earth. Just watching the livestream video, nearly brought me to tears. Unbelievable talents on display. Amazing. Well done. Xxx

I'm no longer playing Minecraft but I would totally install it to check this map. And would not be surprised if other devs went to check this up to develop their LOTR game maps in the future, as inspirational and localizational tools

I was super impressed already with everything these awesome humans are doing, but once I saw Argonath... I couldn't believe it, the rendition is really damn DAMN good, and I would have thought it near impossible to make them in Minecraft! Really beautiful, thoroughly impressed! Thank you!

This sort of organising, planning and teamwork organisation is honestly something you can put forth in your resume, not even kdding!
The fact this is in a videogame has nothing to do with the professionalism on display.

I grew up and lived near Lauterbrunnen, or Luterbrunne, as we call it in our dialect. It's absolutely stunning in real life, especially on a sunny day in spring, when the snow melt combines the hundreds of trickling rivulets into thundering waterfalls that barrel down the near vertical, up to 1000m high cliffs into the valley and the Lütschinen river down below. "Lauterbrunnen" actually means "many springs", and it's not called the Valley of 72 Waterfalls for nothing. I've always been so proud that Tolkien took so much inspiration from our quiet little slice of paradise, but seeing THIS version of Rivendell gave me an almost visceral reaction. It touched something in me that I hardly describe, but it felt incredibly familiar and comforting, like some of the best parts of my childhood came together to remind me of those bygone, simpler days.

I walked into this with what I thought were lofty expectations. Those expectations were shattered in minutes. Then the video kept going. These people are insane and it's fantastic to see.

The appreciation and detail to Tolkien's drawings of incredible! As one who read the books after I watched the movies, this brings my imagination to life! I LOVE the artistic vision here!

Beyond incredible. The amount of time, energy, and passion this must have taken blows my mind.

I remember seeing parts of their map years back and it’s so crazy to see how much they’ve progressed! And also how much in the real world has changed since then.

I love that Glaurrung got a mention on the tombstone in Tol Morwen.

Seriously what a beautiful project. These folks have done some amazing work. Thorin's throne room is especially breathtaking. Love the approach to Thorin's halls in general, what with thinking about the water supply, where dwarven residences would be, etc.

"And so they named their case fan Ainulindalë..." 😜

Wonderful, wonderful work. I love seeing this much passion and attention to detail from fans and artists. And this IS absolutely legitimate interactive digital art.

This is by far one of my favorite places to jump into and wander around. Been following this build for a few years now and regularly drag friends in with me to go and try to find places
