Here is a build I did of an AMT 1958 Thunderbird Convertible. This started as a AMT 1960 Thunderbird Convertible and I back dated it to a 1958.

Raoul you did a outstanding job on this Thunderbird and I've always loved the old Tbirds and that's so cool that your dad still have them and you got your driver's license in 89 and I got married in 89!! Lol

My older brother had a good friend named Blalock that had 5 or 6 old Thunderbirds that he drove everywhere. Neat old cars.

Man is that nice. Had a buddy in college that had a 66. That car was awesome. Looks great.👍😎

Thanks Raoul, I never thought much of the 58 and later T-Birds, seeing them as 'over-designed', with clunky trim alomost as if Ford after designing the first three years, didn't know where to go with the car. However watching your videos are changing my view on them. I'm looking forward to building my only T-Bird model, the 1962 version.

I know you built this model a while back, but that's the same reason I'm doing it. My father bought a brand new one 1960. Special order buy from a dealer in Sacramento California. Last year of this style, it had a 430 . It was all white with a red and white interior. Car was incredibly fast. He ordered it with three speed transmission on the tree and overdrive. We had NO power options in the car whatsoever. No air conditioning and at that time we were on our way to Texas for him to attend college as a management trainee for the Southern Pacific Railroad. I was in first grade my sister and third. I'm 69 now! Still one of my all-time favorites. For high school he bought me a 1956 black on black on portal top t-bird for me to work on and I kept for the next 10 years. I got my driver's license in it! He bought it for $1, 200 I sold it for $10, 000 after rebuilding. I too have a soft spot for Thunderbirds. Again thanks for sharing the story.

You are a very talented model builder. What you did with this car and others on your channel only those who are passionate about the hobby would do.

Lovely build and great to hear the stories and see the photos. I’ve parted out so many warped Thunderbird promos for parts to build kits that it’s scary to see an $85 tag on that promo. I must have 15-20 parts cars from back when you could pick them up cheaply.
What brand paint did you use on your ‘58?

Can you do a feature build on a 1974 -1977 Camaro? That would be cool.
