I have a stock standard Ceriatone OTS FM 50/100 and C Lator.... had it 3 weeks now and Absolutely love it... i have an 80's voiced OTS 20 as well for a couple of years now and it sounds great through the C Lator...

"If you smear taint grease from Howard Dumble himself on the first stage bypass capacitor it will get fat and creamy" ....Dr Mengle.

Just aquired a Ceriatone Overtone Special 100. I am very happy. For all those people who say they aren't that great, I have a '71 twin reverb with mercury magnetics OT, a '68 bandmaster reverb with twin reverb OT, a Victoria 51212, a '72 Marshall Superbass and a bunch of other cool amps to compare the ots100 to. None of them have a clean tone that comes anywhere near the clarity, detail, responsiveness, hugeness, warmth, adjustability or power that the OTS has. The circuit is tonally balanced in a way I've never experienced before. The transformers are massive, which probably gives the amp it's huge responsiveness. The overdrive channel sounds to my ears as close to power tubes being overdriven as I've ever heard, unlike all the post plexi Marshall master volume amps where the drive just sounds fizzy and untoneful, ok for playing cheese metal I suppose, but the OTS stays toneful and musical.

I have two of Nik's amps, the Marshall JTM45 Bluesbreaker and the HRM and both are fantastic.

Great amps. But how is the Dumble sound the "Holy Grail" tone when all of them were different and custom built with the player who was purchasing it in mind? I/E they all sound different.

Less talk, more tones/demo. Don't tell me. Show me.

Load of crap! The Dumble sound and there are many as each one’s different, is not the be all end all of sound. Not everyone likes this type of sound. Not everyone wants one. There are more people that love Fender amp sound than Dumble. Many love Marshall ( derived from a baseman). Ampeg, Orange, Mesa Boogie, are insanely great ! I choose a Boogie Mark lll
