Local and national government seem to agree that the hundreds of refugees living in tents in Bellville and Kensington must be evicted. The question is: who will evict them. The refugees have been living in the two areas of Cape Town since the hard COVID-19 lockdown in 2020. It was meant to be a temporary measure, but more than three years later, they are still there.
