Probably should be a height and weight requirement. Grown people who have ridden say when the ride first begins its decent, it feels like you’ll be snatched up out of the seat because the bar restraint is NOT flush against an adults body.

The girl fell over 100 feet, so she was probably not fastened tightly enough and slipped either under the bar or was just too small for the safety bar and flew up out of the seat, then fell to her death. I never understood doing things to scare yourself, but even if it’s scarier without a seatbelt or shoulder harness, at this point there needs to be some requirements!

Where were the parents? Why did the ride attendant let her go on that ride??? Why on earth was a ride like this even built???

Poor baby. And family. God watch over this family even more so during their time in pain and suffering

Even if it was the parks fault what were the parents thinking letting the baby child on a ride like this the rush itself is enough to give a child a heart attack!

"We still don't know what happened on the ride"
Why does the news never have the actual pertinent information?

According to People Magazine Online, there was a height requirement. People Magazine listed the cause as the child not have if used the 2 seatbelts provided, but rather- she laid them across her lap and appeared strapped in. whoever road with her should have double checked a child’s seatbelt, ESPECIALLY A 6 YEAR OLD! Shame on her riding partner who would have also been the one to sign off on the park’s waiver for the ride!

Then the ride alerted the operators of a problem, but I guess they couldn’t figure out who was the one not strapped in, and they performed an override on the alert system in order to proceed with getting the ride going. so it was ALSO OPERATOR ERROR!

they said they do inspections on this ride, when me and my family went on it a couple years ago they didn't even have shoulder restraints just seat belts. the "inspection" should have called for shoulder restraints

Imagine being so excited to take your family to an amusement park, then having your child taken away forever. Never getting to hold them, cuddle with them, play with them again. I’d take my life

Other parents....don't do this with your 6 year old. COMMON SENSE.

What's puzzling to me is they "still don't know exactly what happened" on that ride.

Never a good plan to prohibit something in place for safety to enhance the excitement of a ride…certainly a recipe for tragedies, disasters, and lawsuits

It the park fault and she was small that the seatbelt didn’t tighten up. If it not their fault then put shoulder restraints! And opening them after the poor little girl died?!

Heart goes out to the family.
Hopefully they don't get rid of the ride, maybe more restraints or at least extra restraints for younger/ small children. Preferably over the shoulders like a car seat restraint.

Maybe they didn’t check if she was secure in the ride
