Julian Smith was so ahead of his time. Nobody in 2009-2010 had this level of high-quality videos on Youtube. Wish he uploaded more frequently now.

There's so many awesome video effects in this clip, like how he's able to arm wrestle himself (On standard editing softwares that's nearly impossible or VERY tough) and the donut... Dude, Julian's a really talented filmmaker

I remember watching this 11 years ago. It's truly a high quality video compared to its contemporaries.

From my perspective, the video is supposed to be unresolved (empty) so that the audience is confused and a little disturbed that there was no specific 'storyline' or 'content' in the video--similar to how his character is disturbed that the box is empty. He was expecting something to be in the box (like any normal person would), and we were expecting there to be a clever story with the 'four' Julians. And both the audience and the character are left unsatisfied that nothing was actually there. So IMO, this was a just a really clever rhetorical video.

That editing is amazing lol. The Arm Wrestling and the donut. You could see where his shadow fades when he reaches for the donut but still, very good editing

Okay so im pretty sure everyone understands the video up until 1 hour Julian. So heres MY take: When present Julian opened the box, its empty, but it WAS filled with something that turned him into 1 hour Julian. Its just that the FIRST Julian (1 hour Julian; the latest) knew what it was and had opened what was actually in the box first, and probably left it in the box. (Thats why 30 minute Julian's voice started changing, bc he was changing into 1 hour Julian and was already 30 minutes in.) So when 30 minute Julian opened the box, HE probably found the actual thing that was in the box and took the contents, and 5 minute Julian arm wrestles him for box, not knowing 30 minute Julian already has what was in it. So when PRESENT Julian walks in with the box, thats why 5 minute Julian is freaking out, and 30 minute Julian is so nonchalant bc HE has whats in it, and thats why 1 hour Julian is surprised it's empty bc he left it there and hour ago, and warned Julian not to open it to save himself from becoming 1 hour Julian. 1 hour Julian than starts shooting sparks at them suspecting one of them has it. and present Julian, confused, left. and if 30 minute Julian was right, he most likely ran off to god knows where trying to keep what he got from the box. Then after 5 minutes of riding around present Julian will come come back and arm wrestle 5 minute Julian, who is now 30 minute Julian. And the video will happen except The new 30 minute Julian (5 minute Julian) is confident that nothing is in the box due to the before occurrence, New 5 minute Julian (present Julian) is freaking out bc it's happening again, and New 1 hour Julian (30 minute Julian) comes back to warn him about the contents of the box, only to find out like Future Julian's box is STILL empty.

I love the detail that Julian in 30 minutes is more tired after the arm wrestling match than Julian in 5 minutes is because he’s been doing it for longer
