A film about George Gurdjieff with Armenian sub-titles containing original and rare footage of his movements and music from the 1920's.

This is Part 1 of "The Seekers of Truth" made by Jean-Claude Lubtchansky, a close associate of Madame de Salzmann, with the support of the Gurdjieff Institute in France.

The film covers the basis of his teaching in his own words and is best viewed in full screen on a television or laptop.

George Gurdjieff was born in 1867 in Gyumri (formerly Alexandropol) in Armenia. His father Ivan was Greek and his mother Yeva was Armenian.

Osho described Gurdjieff as one of the most significant spiritual masters of this era and indeed this is a film well worth watching.

The French version is at:

Your comments are welcome. We live on a wonderful and possibly unique planet in the universe and can only be grateful for every second of life that is granted to us.

A very precious document, giving a simple but complete presentation of Gurdjieff to the ones who don't know him, and sharing never seen images of life and work in the Prieuré. I read a bunch of accounts by Gurdjieff's disciples, but never saw so many pictures. It's very moving and inspiring. Thank you.

It comes to mind: 'where there is a will, there is a way.' This simple man – part explorer, part mystic, part philosopher, lived life on his own terms. While watching the documentary, I kept asking myself how on earth did he finance his endeavours! He certainly had a good head for entrepreneurialism and raising funding. Amazing life.

It is still overwhelming, now at 76, seeing that everything of any significance to my life is owed to this Man. The Universe does not have an expression for the thanks I feel.

'You have the worst art collection in Paris.
'I don't see it that way. Each painting I bought was from a struggling artist who put his heart and soul into it.'
Thats humility.

I discovered the book "meetings with remarkable men " in my early teens and I was very deeply affected by it . I ran away from home in order to find my own path throwing my school books off the ferry to England, unfortunately my mother with the help of the police found me in London and brought me back to finish school. I wonder how my life would have been had she not found me. Thank you for bringing back these memories.

Many spiritual teachers come to Realisation after a crisis. However one has to first be ready for that crisis with deep preparation. A preparation with the questions, who are we, why are we here, what is our purpose? Only then can the crisis become an opportunity to awake. Gurdjeiff shows this so beautifully so that we can understand that ordinary is truly extra ordinary. Truly blessed to have seen this documentary. Deepest gratitude for all those who put this remarkable video together. 🙏

I lived in Tflis for 3 years, I was in Gurdjeff Institute in Italy and UK for 8 years. Then abruptly I lost the path. Thank you for sharing this document, it is so real, it makes me cry. I miss the path, that path. The path of remorse.

G was my first spiritual 'trickster' and lead to my first great revelation. Then came Ouspensky and study society in London. I followed Maharishi my second 'trickster' for a decade. All fifty years ago.
Now I wait in this 'conceptual life' with no ambition...day by day. Listen to various voices with no expectations.

It is another 19 years passed. I have heard first about G.I.Gurdjeff in the early 1980th, through my private teacher R.F. Kastner. And we also saw the film Meeting with remarkable men which was organized to show during a Congress in Healing by Mr. Kastner. Now my Dear private teacher expired one year ago. and my life is real because I am. And in Gratitude for all those moments of self-remembering. Thank you Mr. Gurdjieff, Bennett & Ouspensky and Thomas de Hartmann and Wife for all your work!

Lovely to see all that contemporary film of the movements and of Gurdjieff himself. And to hear Gurdjieff's teaching in a distilled form. Thank you!

The old film clippings are haunting and powerful beyond belief.
s is one of the most extraordinary documentaries I've ever seen and heard - in keeping with its theme.
