My Very Own by Susan LaBarr -- A practice recording

Our Maui Choral Arts Association chorus has just begun the new Spring '25 semester, and one of the pieces is Susan LaBarr's "My Very Own", which she says was adapted from The Song of Solomon 4:7, 9-10 and Ruth 1:16-17, which I think is kinda cool.

I was quite touched when I first heard this piece and so it would be the first one I'd try to record myself. I'm doing the tenor and bass parts. (I'm in the bass section and the tenor parts are too high for me as you can hear.)

My hope is that some members of our chorus will hear this recording in its current state and decide to come over to record the soprano and alto and tenor parts so that the voices are all ours and so that it sounds good, and we can put this on our YouTube channel.

You may notice the "Copying is Illegal Review Copy only" watermark on the pages I printed out. The chorus HAS paid for copies for all 80 members of our chorus, but they have yet to make it here to Maui. So, I don't think this is illegal.

We have also paid for the "Tracks" for this piece, and since I don't know the parts very well at this point, I am listening to the tenor or bass parts in my headphones. Most of the bass and tenor parts you hear are from me, but since there's also soprano and alto in this recording, there is some bleed-through from the tenor and bass tracks that I cannot get rid of easily. Therefore my voice sounds better than it normally would.

Okay, enough of this jibber jabber. Chorus members, how about it? Anyone wanna come over and lay down some tracks?
