As a one piece fan the trailer dosen't look bad and if you go with the live action its supposed to be 8 episodes which covers the east blue saga and if you went with the anime it would be 61 episodes

The One Piece Live Action will cover the events of the "East Blue Saga", which is considered the prologue of the series (Up to Chapter 100 of the Manga Novel, and Episode 61 of the Anime). The showrunners of the live action will still follow the main storyline, but will also take some liberties to condense or skip certain parts of the story, as well as to focus on fights and events that are canon but were only shortly mentioned in the original material, which makes it an interesting show to watch for both fans and non-fans of the series.

As a fan of the anime( I still haven’t finished it), I can honestly say it grew on me to the point where I see why it received so much praise and awards. It is just that good!!! I love luffy❤

I would say the teaser is pretty representative of the types of characters you’d see in this portion of the manga/anime. (As others have said first 100 chapters of the manga, first 60-ish episodes of the anime.) The most exciting parts of the anime that this covers really have nothing even minor revealed in this teaser trailer. Legitimately - only one of the 4 major antagonists in this period of the story are shown.

Due to time constraints it can’t be a 1:1 but the adaptation can definitely tighten up and streamline a lot of the story. The manga will have better pacing than the anime but the live action may be the most efficient way to get those first 100 chapters in.

I think the adaptation will have the spirit and heart of the source material, the cast truly embody each of their respective characters and have a wonderful dynamic with each other (check out their reaction to the trailer) and the writers and show runners are fans of the show who’ve been working hard WITH the creator Oda for 6 years. Matt Owens has been vocal about how Oda came to trust him with the story and he’s been part of the community for years.

In his letters to us about production, Oda has said that in his expected life time he feels that this adaptation may be the last opportunity he has to make sure that he can get this story out to as many people as possible and I believe with that being the intention that this will be a fantastic way to reach a bigger western audience in a more accessible form of media so everyone has a chance to experience one of the greatest stories ever told. 💖🏴‍☠️

Season 1 of the Live Action only adapts like the first 60 episodes. So, you can definitely finish that in 2 months.

One Piece in Anime mode started in 1999, different from the Manga which started from 1997 and One Piece is very interesting because it often discusses Politics, Human Trafficking, Corruption, Genocide, Racism, Black Markets, Unethical Human Experiments, Political Marriage, Human Slavery, Environmental Issues, Pandemics, Drugs, Absolute Government Power, World History Hidden By World Governments. So if people see One Piece without watching, they'll think that it's just an ordinary kid's anime 😉

I would highly recommend watching the anime if you're interested as for the trailer. It looks pretty d*** good. It's gonna cover like the 1st 61 episodes of the ani'm loving. These reactions from people that haven't watched or read one piece because that means the live actions already doing its job bringing more people to the story. It's really fun really cool and has a lot of heart.

It honestly looks decent compared to the other ones I've seen, not the best but definitely not the worst. They look like they really care about doing this so I'll give them a chance. Dont like the CGI and Wigs but I do love the Cast and Backgrounds ❤

I will always love One Piece and if you watch the world building one the part of it. The Manga has out sold Harry Potter. I love the characters and I will always watch it first before an other anime. If watch you can see stuff in our own world eg Discrimination being just one them it can't get emotional at times.
