Time Series data are widely used in many Use Cases with ElasticSearch and sometimes it is necessary to adopt the right strategy to store this data in the most effective way as well as control how data grows. We will explore how it is possible to automate the process of handling Time Series data within a Hot/Warm architecture with the Index Lifecycle Management (ILM) feature.

I watched this video because the description mentioned ILM. The first 15 minutes is Data Streams only, and the rest of the video revolves around it. In essence it is ILM if you use/want to use Data streams (whichis not mentioned anywhere prior to the video). Elastic stack is now 7.12 and I see no mention in how to use Logstash with Data Streams. I hope people find it useful, if you are like me looking to use ILM without Data Streams and maybe with Logstash, this is a waste of 46 minutes.
