Popular Chefs Read 1-Star Yelp Reviews | FOODBEAST LABS

We asked restaurant owners with near impeccable Yelp ratings to read off those stray 1-star YELP reviews. Definitely inspired by Jimmy Kimmel's bit on CELEBRITIES READ MEAN TWEETS, wanted to do something for the chef community!

What chefs/restaurants do you want on here NEXT?!!

Thanks to:
Jason Quinn (The Playground, MTV2)
Daniel Shitcob Shemtob (TLT Food, Food Network)
Scott Nghiem (Afters Ice Cream, The Milky Bun)

And this is exactly why Yelp reviews should be taken with a hefty grain of salt. Very funny video, I would love to see more in the future.

I don't really know anything about Yelp, but does that service even moderate the reviews? Seems to me like a lot of these reviews simply drags the rating down - without having anything to say about the actual food (nor the place in some cases)...

throughout the years, I've realized that the number of reviews matters more than the number of stars. The higher the reviews, the better the place is.

I get why the chef from The Playground doesn't do alternations. Its just the idea how the food is supposed to taste like or just try out new things. Take it as something like, expanding your palate.

I would be pissed if I couldn't have ketchup too

Majority of the 1 star reviews I've seen on Yelp are completely nonsensical and sound overly-entitled

2 out of the 3 chefs seem pretty chill.

I love how the chef with the "bad personality" review is the one who took this way to seriously & continued to act pretty pretentious.

I can't eat gluten, but I certainly wouldn't go to yelp to go give a 1 star review to someone because they didn't have anything gluten free, so long as they made that clear (which many places do). My dietary limitations is not the problem of the establishment, other than they just won't get my business. I don't see the need to go drag down their rating on an aggregate because they did not carry something I could eat. I'll just eat elsewhere and review them based on the food and service. Same goes for the person who is the "kinda vegetarian"- find somewhere that either carries what you want or outright caters to your chosen dietary restrictions, don't take it out on a business for choosing not to specialize in your specific want.

Some of the complaints sounded legitimate, and the attitudes of the chef's weren't helping either, but a lot of these reviews just seemed born of the same issue that created the above--entitlement.

this is why I hated customer service so much, no matter how hard you try there will always be one person who complains...

GREAT VIDEO! :D

Yelp! attracts some of the [insert choice words] people ever. Shocking to hear 1-star reviews from people who DIDN'T even eat the food or experience the restaurants. Unbelievable!

it's amazing that people will say anything online, but will not say a word to the staff about the actual dining experience while in the restaurant!

I can understand no alterations to dishes. Cooking is an art. But not having ketchup. Ehh...not cool.

Most of those reviews were shit. You can go on Yelp and filter for just Yelp Elite reviewers. Those are the ones that usually take reviews more seriously.
