DISCLAIMER!!!

*It's been brought to my attention by @Techno Dad that the Denon X3700H and Marantz 6015 do have some limitations I wasn't aware of. 1) All mentions of being able to make a 9.2.2 configuration are NOT true. Both receivers only support 7 ear-level speakers, and 2) only the 2 front or 2 rear height channels can be externally powered, unless ALL channels are externally powered. Sorry for any confusion! And Thanks for the heads up, @Techno Dad !!

The Denon 4700h gets you Auro 3D for a few hundred dollars more than the 3700h. If you care about Atmos then you would love Auro 3D. It has an excellent upmixer that actually utilizes the height speakers far more effectively and consistently than Atmos. Also allows for a far easier speaker setup where you use height speakers above your front and rear speakers. You don’t mount in ceiling and the enveloping sound effect is amazing and still works for Atmos as well.

You're telling me I have to upgrade again? First the $1000 setup, then the $1500 setup, and now the $3000 setup?? LOL

I went klipsch for all my speakers but heard very MEH things about their subwoofers. Definitely paid a lot more for mine but no regrets with my double SVS-PB-1000. Like i said though i never even tried the klipsch sub so i can't make a fair comparison just saying i'm in love with my SVS. Also don't have to worry about timbre matching for the sub as far as i know.

Appreciation post! Thanks for all the insight you provide, you explain things so well and calmly and you emphasize words at the right time. Your formatting reminds me a lot of Bill Nye! I came on a super deal, got the Klipsch Atmos 5.0.2 speakers, 2 R12-SW, and 2 extra R-41M for $900! I picked up brand new R-41SA for my Atmos speakers for $150 so now I have a 7.2.4 for $1050!! I was originally only doing a 5.1.2 system but things happen for a reason. Can’t wait to get my first start on a home theater! Probably will get exactly this same set-up with the 3700h with a Russound P75. Thoughts on the P75 vs your 2ch external amp? THANKS FOR THE HELPFUL CONTENT SENSAI

Just bought a variation of this. I got the marantz 9.2 but instead of the towers I got 6X RP bookshelf speakers, 4X RP atmos, and the RP center. Very excited

I got this Costco 5.0.2 package with one sub and the Denon S750H from Costco also. The package is amazing! Just under $1, 700 including tax. I am loving it!

That’s an amazing sound set up! ?Where’s the TV to enjoy the amazing surround sound? I spent a little over $2k on a a complete 5.2 surround sound system AND a 1080P Ultra Short throw projector with a 92” screen. I would have purchased a 4K Ultra Short Throw projector, but those projectors alone are in the $2K price range. I’m still waiting for them to come down in price. I did use your Costco tip and got the 12” Klipsch Sub. Thank you and I really like your videos.

Hey just making sure I understand, you can’t externally power the other 2 Atmos speakers, because in the description it says that only front 2 or rear 2 can be externally powered. I was about to buy this but I’m very glad I read the description.

Can I get a similar budget setup using one 7.2 atmos receiver to handle the surround LR and surround back LR and a 9.2 receiver to pump out the remaining floor channels plus 4 height channels for a 7.2.4 configuration? Only asking because I picked up a 7.2 receiver dirt cheap and hope to add extra to it in the future.

What if one really doesn't like the upfiring Atmos speakers, and wants 4 proper in-ceiling speakers?

Hello!! I bought this whole system exactly as you described it (9.2.2) however only questions we have is how to hook up what and where. Can you give a quick rundown about how to hook up the DENON AVR (such as which preouts to use for the amplifier, and which speakers should be in what port).. any guidance would be appreciated!

Could you make a video on the best setup regardless of budget? Using whichever you think is the best speakers and whatnot

Can you go over media sources, like what you use for atmos streaming

So could i use this minus the additional amp for a 5.2.4 atmos system? My room wouldn't allow for side/wide speakers.

I bought the Emotiva Basx A 300 for the R-625FA's you say they could handle 150W each. According to the klipsch spec.. it says 100W continuous 400W peak. Can you explain to a home theater nubie?
