Country music icon Vince Gill bought his first guitar when he was 18 years old. He had just moved away from home to Louisville, Kentucky, to play in a bluegrass band, when he spotted the 1942 herringbone guitar. It cost him $1,600 – “every dime” he had -- and his old guitar, but it sparked a passion for buying guitars that has continued throughout his life.

He says that he traded his guitar + $1600 for this one, so this couldn't' have really been his first guitar, right?
