I don't know what are the top singers in India, but for me, as Romanian, Shailaja Subramanian is best Indian singer at this moment. She is an extremely professional singer with a fantastic voice and a huge talent.
Maybe some Indian people can tell us here how popular she is in India now.

Only one word for this performance, FANTASTIC. Shaileja ji, your experience, your talent, your sincerity & your practice (riyaaz) can be obviously felt. You enjoy whilst you are singing, adds to the viewers joy. Alokji, your support was very apt, singing somewhere in the in between grunty & clear vocals of RD, too good. Orchestra superb as usual. All musicians are great. THE MOST IMPORTANT THING I LIKED WAS, YOU'LL STUCK TO THE ORIGINAL & PERFORMED THE ENTIRE SONG RATHER THAN MINDLESS COMBINATION OF TWO OR THREE HALF SONGS. Excellent. Evergreen and scintillating hindi song. Few other musicians did not smile had a serious face and audience josh hardly felt. But great voice, great music rendering by all on stage made it worth hearing again. Applause
