I have listened to this song so many times since 1985. Love it ❤ Also really liked their 1988 effort. Sad to learn that Özkan struggled with his health for so long and has passed away recently. May he rest in peace.

that was the year I came to spend the rest of my life in Istanbul at the age of 34. Eurovision was new to me and I was interested in watching an international music competition. those of you who watched it remember it being broadcast on TRT 1. Of course being new to Türkiye I had never really heard much about MFÖ but when I saw their performance, their dancing groove, their enthusiasm, their tight harmonies I immediately decide that they should have won first place in the competition. I was absolutely blown away by their performance. Around 2000-2001on a summer's day I happened to meet Özkan in a Migros market near our flat in Levent. I introduced my self (I'm not shy about that) and I was delighted that Özkan spoke very good English. If you had run into an American of British pop star maybe in a market, they may give you a smile an autograph and then (understandably), but Özkan and I just got into a delightful conversation that included music and bass playing, children and education, teh craziness of life in in Istanbul. He was indeed as genteel, engaging, and warm a human being as I had ever met. At one point, I told him that I thought they ought to have won that Eurovision contest from many years before. Have smiled and thanked me. Then we went out ways. Now 38 years later, I still live in Levent, it's home to me now. And I still value the time ı met and talked with the "Ö" of MFÖ. He will be dearly missed by this nation.

Turkey lost one of its most important artists, Özkan Uğur. Özkan Uğur was the most cheerful and successful musician of MFÖ. He was an artist who was loved by all of Türkiye and did not receive any bad comments about him.
"Diday diday day" was one of the best songs Turkey sent to Eurovison.
