this happened near the dropping of the gold standard, peak cheap oil(non-shale), peak population growth in the US(nominal), peak IQ/flynn effect in developed countries, and landing on the moon for the last time

Kind of like the 2022 Nobel prize in physics that was given for a violation of CHSH inequalities. Which was purely a statistical correlation of many measurements over time. Not a single measurement with a result above 1. Or a single instance correlation above 2. It's just a statistical prediction that hasn't been physically proven. The measurement can never be greater than 1, thusly the correlation can never be greater than 2 in a single instance. 2.8 is non-sense and can't be physically proven. Yet somehow it has a Nobel prize? But why? It's a big nothing burger.

Since we're giving out Nobel prizes for nothing burgers can I have one now for debunking the nothing burger that debunked the nothing burger>?
