How to compile and run a Bitcoin Core full node!

I'm doing this in Ubuntu in a VM.

You can do almost exactly the same thing in a mac as MacOS is also "unix-like".

Windows is another story - I'll do one of those too if there is much interest.

Can I install bitcoin core(node) on 1 empty HD and use tails as OS?? I try and bitcoin core does not connect to any peers. When I use Linux Mint it starts to sync normally.

Hi thanks for your video i try to run bitcoin node on google cloud. When i try to run the following command sudo apt-get install build-essential libtool autotools-dev automake pkg-config bsdmainutils python3 (min 4:30) i get this error:
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree... Done
Reading state information... Done
Package bsdmainutils is not available, but is referred to by another package.
This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or
is only available from another source
However the following packages replace it:
bsdextrautils

E: Package 'bsdmainutils' has no installation candidate

There is no file .sh on the contrib directory.
