Paid 3k for my 2002 saturn sl1 with 70k miles back in december 2014. What a gem of a car. Have never had a problem and runs strong

Wrong, the cadillacs northstar engine is incredibly unreliable, early 2000’s buick lesabre is the best car you can get for that price period

Stay far far away from that north star v8

Couple years ago got a 95 Mercedes e320 for $2500 and it’s been incredible since. Nothing can touch it quality wise. Even modern cars.

i recently bought a 2000’s mercury grand marquis for just $3k. Sure the mileage is a bit high but those 4.6L V8 Engines by ford are built like tanks. regular maintenance will keep her alive for years to come. I recommend any panther platform car for those wanting to spend less, have loads of fun, and tons of practicality in the same package!

Yea great idea! Spend all your money as a student on a northstar v8! I promise it will never breakdown on you!

I bought my 2002 Ford Taurus a month ago for $1900. Within a week, I had it registered in my name and driving on the road. Changed the oil, and replaced the water pump and a couple idler pulleys along the way, and it's been great. Also has minimal rust

Paid 3k for my 99' Civic EX Coupe, and I also own a 99' Grand Cherokee, what a coincidence 😅

Another great car is an early 2000’s Honda CR-V. It’s a good size for a first car and reliable as can be. Also has plastic numbers so if you hit anything you won’t cause too much damage if any at all to the car unless you’re in a big accident.

Crown vics are also pretty good, not the sportiest but the engine is as reliable as they get.

Paid 600 bucks for my 06 trailblazer. Had no issues and the drivetrain was in great condition. Highly recommend it.

I got 1987 300zx for $1900 if you want a sports car that sits around a 4-7k price point just keep on offering them the amount you actually have and eventually one will bite. It took me a couple months to find a car but I’m so glad I got the one I did

Honestly the Ford Crown Victoria/Mercury Grand Marquis/Lincoln Town car are great options. They're all essentially the same besides besides looks, suspension, and gearing. Probably some of the most reliable cars on the road and they're all rwd and came with a 224-250 hp 2v 4.6 V8 shared with the Mustang. Only downsides are their weight (about 4, 000 lbs) and that they all came with an automatic 4 speed but you find them under 3k all day.

My first car was a 1998 Honda Civic that had sat for 6 years and had 500k miles.
My dad helped me swap the transmission, I changed the fuel pump and got a new battery.
Car $500
Transmission $300
Battery $80
Junkyard Fuel Pump for like $15

Thing started right up, I put another 150k miles on it, and sold it for 1.5k
