HD: MTM Audi S4 3,0T Sedan vs BMW M3 Coupe 6-speed

I drove an S4 3.0TFSI S-tronic today actually..! Damn that engine and gearbox is so awesome! I have a Q5 2.0 TDI with S-tronic myself, but damn I wish I had that engine too!

I totally agree. I WANTED to love the R8 when it came out, but I couldn't get past the fact that it looked like a Lamborghini, yet had the EXACT SAME engine from Audi's 4 door RS4 sedan. At least they finally ended up making the V10 powered model. Underground racing has some videos of twin turbo V10 R8's and they're pretty nuts. Audi has the R8, Mercedes has the SLR McLaren, where's BMW's entry?? I'd love to see what they could make for that market segment.

Plus, my bet is that a few years down the road, aftermarket tuning and performance parts will allow it to smoke the m3 in a straight line and put in on par in the twisties.

thru the old ones had some understeer
and those small turbos wher back then the best way for more (economical) power without massive lag
btw no manufacturer puts a big turbo on their cars (even the one on a standard "evo" isnt that big)

@Rangerphantom06 that's torque for you, big engines often eat tires, but who cares when u have 450-500hp, tires is a small price to pay.

I agree that they are the best, but Audi is offering similar performance and luxury at a far lower cost. IMO the S4 is not really expensive - it is similar in price to a loaded Lexus IS350. In my books that is worth something. BTW Mercedes rode through the late '90s and 2000's on it's reputation and needs to reprove itself. BMW and Audi on the other hand have been innovative and have provided quality products at a good price.

you all have to consider that in this video, they're also rolling. the m3 would have been somewhat further back had they gone off the line.

Got to say Audi wins that even if it is only by a car length or 2. The BMW is a 4.0ltr V8 so that means it has 1ltr higher cubic capacity and 2 cyclinders more regardless of the Audi having 10bhp more since it is tuned. It's still in the same class and power range is very similar, I suppose it's about time Audi win against BMW for once with the Super Saloons.

Jhain92 : You dont need the M3 V8 .. Better to buy the 335i .. it is Much cheaper in Maintenance .. Fuel .. and Inspections .Standard it can keep up with the M3 almost Fully. And with a little Modification you will get Much more Power then form the V8. So your better off with the 335i.

@niradg read the title of the of the Video newbie its a stock B8 S4 its a MTM version thats means its tuned with higher presuremint to the engine creating more torque and power around 400hp for the b8 s4 and that m3 is stock plus the m3 sooo much less torque is even funny and still killed in the end. thank you

@ademi7 And??? His engine still won engine of the year twice 2004-2005 for highest power output and highest revving v8 in its class, when your m3 had a six cyclinder 333hp rwd his car had 414hp awd. And an audi R8 would put any BMW street production car to shame... Oh and, its pretty sad a 2011 Mustang GT $30k can run your cars same lap times... look it up... not hard to find...

Both are good German automobiles, but if I had the choice to choose between them, then the Audi comes first.

hey guys im hoing to buy an audi s4 3.0T SuperCharged Prestige. . for 28k is it worth it? or should i buy s diffrent car ? or a Bmw Z4 35is twin turbo for 30k? they both have the same Power..?

This has to be done again with an APR tuned S4.. MTM doesn't produce any legitimate power increases over stock.
